Better sent out late then never sent at all

I know little of this writer, however, he speaks words all American Jews should take note of. The meeting of "our Jewish Leaders (?????)" in July with the "annointed One" was an absolute unmitigated disgrace. They will never speak for me....RG

Please forward this article to Jewish organization leaders who can change this situation.

The presidents of Jewish organizations in the United States were craven accomplices to the Holocaust. They refused to support imperiled Jews abroad because doing so would have created controversy at home. As six million of their brethren were being slaughtered, American Jews recoiled into the fetal position. Six decades later, the current American Jewish hierarchy has just visited the White House to demonstrate that while the names may have changed, the cowardice remains.

Jewish leaders in America know that supporting Israel requires opposing Barack Obama, which as Hillary Clinton and John McCain learned means being marginalized as racists. It is a price these invertebrates are unwilling to pay. The Anti-Defamation League and the American Jewish Committee and Hadassah were therefore silently complicit when Obama permitted Turkey to supply the Hezbollah-dominated Lebanese military with weapons that will kill Israeli Jews.

There was additional silence from the National Council Of Jewish Women and the Union For Reform Judaism and the National Jewish Democratic Council when Obama granted to the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip $900 million that will finance the murders of countless other Israeli Jews.

Israel Considers Prisoner Swap With Hamas

While it is both truly sad and undoubtedly criminal that Gilad Schalit remains in the captivity of  Iran's  terrorist lackies in Gaza, giving up 1 or giving up 1000's of palestinian piggies in Israeli jails is just sheer madness. I know the precedent has already been set by this pathetically weak and weak-minded administration of Olmert - he should be in prison, along with Livni, for treason! - and its been set by previous Israeli administrations.  However, the continuation of these unbalanced exchanges only encourages the kidnapping of Israelis - soldiers AND citizens.

The article below highlights the depth to which the cowards olmert and livni (and Olmert's administration) will stoop.

   GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip —

Israel indicated Thursday that it wants to swap Palestinians held in Israeli jails for an Israeli soldier captured in 2006 as part of a longer-term truce after three weeks of fighting in Gaza.

Israeli media said some Cabinet ministers have softened their positions on releasing dangerous Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the soldier, Sgt. Gilad Schalit, signaling the government is trying to work out a deal with Hamas ahead of Israeli elections next month.

Hamas has demanded the release of hundreds of prisoners, including convicted murderers, in exchange for Schalit, who was seized by Hamas-linked militants in a cross-border raid.

From FOXNews.com - Israel Withdraws All Troops From Gaza Strip

give the Israelis credit for starting the process of cleansing Gaza of the Hamas vermin. Unfortunately, because of Condaloozer Rice and the wonderful US State Department and an Israeli PM and Foreign Minister who between the two of them may have the makings of something remotely resembling a spine (but its really an illusion), one could say they've left prematurely.

Living next door to a serial killer

Jewish World Review Jan. 20, 2009 / 24 Teves 5769

By Barry Rubin

http://www.JewishWorldReview.com | Israel has won a huge military victory in a defensive war against the radical Islamist Hamas group which rules the Gaza Strip. So what does Israel want?

Its first choice would be a moderate movement running the Gaza Strip which would negotiate a deal for a Palestinian state living in peace alongside Israel, resettling refugees there, and being a prosperous, stable state. All Israel desires is that such a country wouldn't attack it with rockets, war, terrorism, or inciting such terrible hatred as to ensure future wars.

Hamas, however, is too extreme to make peace; its rival, the Palestinian Authority (PA) which rules the West Bank, is too weak and indecisive to do so. Having Hamas as a neighbor is like living next door to a serial killer, who abuses his children and threatens to kill them if you go in after him. You can defend yourself but if the police won't arrest him the only choices left are to build a wall around him, stop him from getting weapons, and sending in food. This is Israel's dilemma. The world demands peace but isn't prepared to do too much to help. The West's basic stand is to keep Hamas ruling Gaza, comparable to ensuring continued Taliban rule in Afghanistan after the September 11 attacks.
