A week from tomorrow, Saturday the 28th of August there will be a rally entitled "Restoring Honor" at the Lincoln Memorial. It comes on the 47th anniversary of Martin Luther King's "I have a Dream" speech and without a doubt one of the seminal moments in American history.
I was one of 200,000 in attendance on that historic day and in my mind's eye I can still see Reverend King and hear his words. The "March on Washington" began a long overdue process, one in which I was privileged to participate, to once and for all put an end to institutionalized racism.
I have never met nor do I know Glenn Beck, the organizer of the "Restoring Honor" march. I have rarely watched his show due to the press of business and travel, but he has seized upon an issue that is paramount if the United States is to survive as it was founded: the restoration of honor and integrity throughout our society.
