I am conducting an experiment.
I am currently the webmaster (HAH!!) of Sandy Plains Baseball Association, and acting webguru of Kell High School’s Fastpitch Softball’s booster club here in Marietta. One site is using PHP-Nuke (horrible software, btw). The other is using Siteframe. And this one, well I had heard quite alot about wordpress. So, we’ll see what happens.
I have to say, I’ve grown quite comfortable using PHP-Nuke, even if it is crap – big, slow, unsecure – like anyone in their right mind would use it for commerce. I understand to some limited extent the bit about modules (esp. how they work and how to code them) and some of the other inner workings, so I’m reticent to abandon it. But these others seem to be ok as well. Siteframe is very, VERY easy to use. If you can write html, or can use a web designer, you can use and configure Siteframe.
This one, though, its a little tricky. I have spent only about an hour or so playing around with it. I have downloaded a few additional themes. Just to make me (ME) happy. I hate the generic, default blandness that comes with these things. But there are a whole lot more folks out there that are developing for WordPress (and PHP-Nuke, for that matter) than there is for SiteFrame. I’ll give it a few weeks or more to see what I like.
